Executive Leadership

David C. Pulver, MD, CEO and Founder of The IMA Group, is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College. Since founding IMA thirty years ago, Dr. Pulver has overseen the growth of the company from a single office in White Plains, NY to a network of almost 80 offices in nineteen states and the District of Columbia. During that time, he has also extended the breadth of IMA’s business to a variety of federal, state, and local government clients, occupational health evaluations, commercial independent medical examinations, and clinical research. Dr. Pulver continues to drive the strategic vision of IMA, including expansion opportunities through merger and acquisition.

Mark I. Weinberger, PhD, MPH, President of The IMA Group, is a licensed psychologist and psychiatric epidemiologist who joined IMA in 2011. Dr. Weinberger received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and his MPH in epidemiology from New York Medical College. In 2018, Dr. Weinberger completed a Graduate Professional Certificate in Principles of Finance from Harvard’s Extension School. He serves as Clinical Instructor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Weinberger is responsible for the day to day operations of the Company.

Victor Cohen,Chief Financial Officer, joined IMA in 2019 with extensive experience as a CFO of private equity backed healthcare and healthcare service businesses with broad management, corporate development and financial expertise. Prior to his work as a CFO, Victor was a private equity investor with Vestar Capital and Capital Z. Earlier in his career he helped oversee M&A at Assurant and worked at JP Morgan. Victor earned a B.S. from Lehigh University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Doug Markham, Chief Strategy Officer, joined IMA in 2019, with a broad experience in healthcare, insurance, and managed care services. Prior to joining IMA, he held executive leadership positions in sales, operations and finance exceeding 25 years of experience with York Risk Services, CareWorks Managed Care Services, and Concentra. Doug’s role is responsible for setting strategic and tactical direction as well as improving key business processes. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University.

Tim Weaver, Vice President of Government Services, joined IMA in 2019. He oversees the operation of IMA’s 70+ medical offices as well our operations center in Albany. Prior to joining IMA, Tim served as Regional Vice President of Operations at Fresenius Medical Care North America, a healthcare company focused on people with renal and other chronic conditions. In this position, Tim was responsible for managing 60 clinics and 30 hospital programs. Tim has extensive experience running complex multi-site health care operations. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Jelena Kunovac, M.D., M.S., joined IMA in 2019 as Chief Scientific Officer. With more than 25 years of experience in the clinical research industry, she has founded three research centers and conducted more than 450 clinical trials. Board Certified in Psychiatry, she completed her Residency Training at the University of California, San Diego after having earned her Master’s Degree in Biological Psychiatry and an M.D. from the University of Belgrade School of Medicine where she graduated as the Valedictorian of her class. In addition, Dr. Kunovac is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She regularly authors scientific publications in respected media journals and presents her research at scientific meetings around the world.

Jennifer Goldfarb, MSN, RN, CCRP, joined IMA in 2019 as Vice President of Clinical Research, providing leadership and oversight for all clinical research operations.  She is an internationally-recognized clinical research industry expert and leader, with more than 20 years of nursing, clinical research operations, leadership, and management experience. She is a certified member of the Society for Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) since 2003 and is an elected member of the Board of Directors since 2016. She was elected Treasurer in 2019. Jennifer’s passion is to serve as patient advocate, advancing science and medicine, by leading and strengthening the culture of conducting safe, ethical, and efficient clinical research.

Lisa A. Letarte, JD, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Compliance Officer. Lisa joined IMA in 2019 and comes to IMA with over 25 years of experience in human resources and extensive experience in compliance, employment law, and mergers & acquisitions. In her HR role, Lisa oversees employee benefits, payroll, employee relations and talent acquisition for all IMA affiliates. As Chief Compliance officer, Lisa is responsible for the IMA Corporate Compliance program.

Michael Koenig, Chief Technology Officer, joined IMA in 2010. Michael has over 20 years of software and system development experience. Michael has experience mentoring and building software departments. He has built software for several industries including Healthcare, Automotive, Environmental, Networking, Pharmaceutical and Financial. Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1985.

Jeanine M. Zimmerman, Vice President of Finance, joined IMA in 2007. She has over 20 years of extensive experience as a Controller and CFO. Prior to joining IMA she managed the accounting/ finance departments and operations of a foreign-based corporation. She is currently responsible for the financial and business decisions of the Company.

Barbara J. Young, Vice President of Business Development, joined IMA in 1998. She is the former Medical Relations Coordinator for the New York State Division of Disability Determinations, where she served as a Medical Relations Officer, Contract Manager, and Coordinator of Medical Relations Activities on a statewide basis. As a member of the Central Office Administrative staff, Barbara coordinated special projects for the Social Security Administration and the New York City Human Resources Administration.
